Led by Hans Scholl and his sister Sophie, the White Rose Resistance was a small collective of Christian students who secretly wrote and distributed leaflets all around Germany, criticizing the Nazis and inspiring others to resist them.
While the members of the White Rose were all found and executed, their sacrifice planted the seeds of resistance in the hearts of countless men and women, whose actions keep alive the legacy of the White Rose.
Though we face a silent and far more deadly holocaust, your sacrifice will water the seeds of resistance. Thousands will be awakened and stirred to action. And the White Rose will blossom.
Unfortunately, the same ideas that drove and justified the holocaust are still with us today. Many of the leaders of the American Eugenics Society sat on Margaret Sanger’s board, wanted to eliminate black people, and even helped influence eugenics policy in Nazi Germany.
Racism suggests that the rights of certain people should be stripped to give some people more privileges. Abortion says let’s strip the pre-born baby’s right to life to give their mother’s more privileges. It all comes down to partiality or bigotry.
And yet, there are many in the church who want to call these ideas good or make peace with them, even as America begins to unravel under their influence. Ideas have consequences and bad ideas have victims. The evil ideas of abortion and racism are producing millions of victims.
